Bauer: Johann Sebastian Bauer: History and genealogy of the Bauers of Sinzendorf, Englmannsbrunn and Untergrafenried, Bavaria, Germany and Plain, Sauk County, Wisconsin. By Kenneth Kraemer, 2019. 200 years of Bauer family history from the mid- 1700s to the mid 1900s in Germany and America. Johann Sebastian Bauer was beheaded at Waldmünchen in 1814 for crimes committed against his family. Three of Sebastian Bauer's daughters immigrated to Wisconsin and lived in the Plain, Sauk County, area. Bergman: The Family History of Henry Bergman and Anna Heidemann, March 2012 Bettinger: Genealogy Of The Bettinger Family 1626-1989 ~ "A Bettinger Family Memoir." This book was originally written by Dieter Bettinger, a 47-year-old teacher from Ottweiler in 1985. He wrote about Bettinger reunions in the 1960s that took place in Landstuhl, Elversberg, Ottweiler/Saar, Zweibrücken, Frankfurt/Main. The Bettinger Genealogy was officially registered, Number 145, at the Ottweiler courthouse on April 28, 1970. At one reunion, Bettingers from the 1700s were discussed and a story appeared in the Ottweiler newspaper on September 15, 1968. Reunions were also held in the 1970s. The book references a 1974 newspaper article from Saarbrücken which included some info about Nicholas Bettinger who came from Niedingen in Lothringen in 1677. The book tells about the Bettinger coat of arms. It mentions a priest, Dr. Francis Cardinal Bettinger for whom a plaque was installed in Landstuhl; a story appeared in the April 12, 1967 Landstuhler newspaper. There are 3 pages of a family tree showing dates from the 1600s to 1900s but no places - they relate to Ludwig Bettinger born 1848 in Limbach who settled in Sauk County, Wisconsin. From page 40 to the end (page 135), the book concerns the Bettinger family in the Plain, Wisconsin, area, with dates of living people.
